America launches massive air strike against Iraq. What good can possibly come of this? I'd been trying to work that out wondering, what the hell does the US think they'll achieve by bombing the hell out of a craphole little city north of Baghdad. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. They can't achieve a damn thing, and the bastards know it! This new assault has nothing to do with quelling insurgency, its about Bush trying to recover his popularity. Its worked before, his approval was high during the initial invasion, and while it was a helluva lot lower during the Fallujah assault it did spike a bit then. Bush is trying to get Americans behind his rah rah rah we're loyal during war time idiocy. Course for that to work you need an obvious war, and an obvious war means blowing things up. So boom boom boom. Spread that freedom like peanut butter!!! Problem for Bushy is it just ain't workin this time. Americans have finally figured out, three years after everyone else, that calling Bush incompotent is actually high praise. He is a complete lame duck president, and Republicans are going to spend the next two and a half years distancing themselves from him so he won't hurt their chances in 08. Yep we've got two years of 'God the president is an idiot' to look forward to. I wonder how many people he'll blow up to try and make himself look good again.

hey pete the cbc uses the term air offensive in the picture which means that they are using helicopter borne troops, not bombing the heck out of some town in the middle of nowhere. Still nothing good can come out of this.
